The fact that people think labeling porn addiction as just a “religious thing” only supports the reality that powerful propagandists are hard at work.
In talking with organizations like Fortify and Fight the New Drug, it’s clear as day to see that porn addiction goes way beyond religion. Sure, there are religions where pornography as discussed as “sin” to keep purity or remain chase. Just because they’ve been talking about this issue maybe a little longer doesn’t undermine the research and reality that a compulsive porn problem destroys lives, no matter the faith or lack thereof.
Just look at the evidence.
There are thousands of young people trying to quit porn in groups like NoFap, the majority of whom are non-religious. This group also helps keep people accountable as they work to stop their masturbation addiction.
And contrary to the perception that religious people struggle more, at least 21 different studies show that porn use is lower among religious populations. Faith, in other words, has proven to be a major mitigating and protective factor against porn use.
